Dubai emerges as pivotal hub for Chinese business expansion and innovation
Senior executives from leading Chinese technology and commerce firms have underscored Dubai's strategic importance as a regional and global centre for Chinese enterprise growth, ahead of the Dubai Business Forum – China in October.
Dubai continues to strengthen its position as an essential hub for the Chinese business community’s regional and international expansion, according to prominent company executives who will address the forthcoming Dubai Business Forum – China on 14th October.
The forum, organised by Dubai Chambers in Shenzhen under the theme “Momentum at Scale: Accelerating Shared Success,” will convene senior leaders from major Chinese enterprises including BYD, Baidu, Tencent Cloud, Huawei Cloud, iMile Delivery, YTO International, Yalla Group, ARIDGE, CICC, and China Merchants Capital. These speakers will explore pathways for deepening trade and investment cooperation between Dubai and China.
Alan Qi, President of Huawei Cloud Middle East and Central Asia Region, emphasised his company’s role in bridging Chinese and local enterprises. “Huawei Cloud is proud to serve as a bridge connecting Chinese and local enterprises, and linking China’s ecosystem with the UAE’s,” he stated. “Through AI, we empower the intelligent upgrade of industries across the UAE, and with technical support, experience sharing, and joint market expansion, we help both UAE and Chinese companies go global with confidence.” Qi will lead discussions on artificial intelligence economy opportunities and Dubai’s innovation ecosystem during the forum.
Rachel Xie, General Manager of Tencent Cloud MENA, highlighted Dubai’s significance for her organisation’s cloud computing operations. She will participate in a panel examining how enterprises can accelerate AI adoption and commercial deployment, whilst exploring how Dubai’s business environment supports technological innovation and market entry.
Jason Hua, Chief Strategy Officer at social networking and gaming firm Yalla Group, praised Dubai’s capacity to unite diverse markets and cultures. “Dubai has demonstrated how a global city can bring together diverse markets, cultures, and ideas to create new opportunities worldwide,” he remarked. Hua will discuss strategies for addressing local user requirements, leveraging market intelligence, and building sustainable digital entertainment ventures.
The 2026 forum programme reflects the evolving priorities of Chinese companies as they transition from market entry towards establishing enduring value. Discussions will encompass artificial intelligence deployment, cross-border capital allocation, localised product development, logistics infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks. The event is designed to facilitate knowledge exchange amongst Chinese enterprises at varying development stages whilst broadening cooperation opportunities between Dubai and China across technology, investment, and commerce.
