GOTECH 2026 Concludes in Dubai with Record Global Participation

The Gas & Oil Technology Conference and Exhibition drew over 2,600 delegates from 70 nations to Dubai World Trade Centre, uniting industry leaders around themes of innovation, artificial intelligence and sustainability.
The Gas & Oil Technology Conference and Exhibition (GOTECH 2026) has concluded at Dubai World Trade Centre following three days of intensive technical sessions and strategic discussions that convened energy leaders, industry experts, researchers and technology innovators from across the globe.
Organised by Dragon Oil in partnership with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the conference operated under the theme “Energising the Future through Leadership, Innovation, Sustainability, AI, and Talent.” The event demonstrated particular emphasis on artificial intelligence applications, technological innovation, environmental stewardship, operational excellence and workforce development within the energy sector.
Abdulkarim Ahmed AlMaazmi, Chairperson of GOTECH 2026 and Chief Executive Officer of Dragon Oil, remarked: “The strong global participation at GOTECH 2026 reflects the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in advancing a more innovative, efficient and sustainable energy industry. We believe technology and AI create their greatest impact when combined with human expertise and talent capable of turning innovation into tangible results.”
The gathering attracted more than 2,600 participants representing 1,206 companies spanning 70 nations, supported by 40 exhibitors and 11 sponsors. The conference programme reviewed approximately 1,300 technical papers submitted internationally, with 250 selected for presentation across 52 specialised sessions.
Technical discussions addressed pressing challenges and opportunities including artificial intelligence and machine learning applications, digital transformation initiatives, well integrity protocols, sustainable well design methodologies, water injection techniques, reservoir analysis, carbon dioxide leakage monitoring and operational optimisation within complex environments.
The conference’s concluding day concentrated on advanced AI and digital technology applications, encompassing operational shutdown optimisation, geothermal energy potential forecasting, downhole obstruction detection in gas wells and internal valve leakage identification. Participants examined data analytics approaches to enhance equipment-failure diagnostics and operational efficiency throughout energy operations.
High-level panel discussions engaged industry leaders and chief executives regarding the sector’s trajectory and global forces reshaping energy markets. Specialised sessions examined the Caspian energy landscape with participation from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan representatives.
Demonstrating commitment to nurturing emerging energy professionals, GOTECH 2026 facilitated a dedicated university student programme involving 30 UAE students throughout the three-day event, providing industry exposure and encouraging exploration of future career pathways in energy.
The International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) contributed significantly through sessions addressing sustainability challenges, pollution mitigation, emissions reduction and the development of integrated energy systems capable of satisfying future global energy requirements.
