ADAFSA and Talabat Mart Partner to Empower Local Farmers and Producers

A strategic collaboration aims to connect Abu Dhabi's agricultural community with digital markets, providing training, insights and support to enhance their commercial reach.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has established a significant partnership with Talabat Mart, the retail and grocery division of Talabat, to strengthen opportunities for local farmers and producers to access modern digital marketplaces and expand their consumer base across the Emirates.
Signed on 2nd October 2026, the Memorandum of Understanding represents a collaborative initiative designed to foster agricultural development whilst advancing food security and sustainable practices. Nasser Mohamed Al Junaibi, Acting Deputy Director-General for Operational Affairs at ADAFSA, and Alix de Zélicourt, General Manager of Talabat Mart, formalised the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
This partnership forms part of Talabat Grow, a regional initiative created to empower local businesses by equipping them with essential skills, commercial tools and capabilities necessary for sustainable growth and effective consumer engagement.
The collaborative programme will deliver comprehensive support to participating producers, including specialised training in digital competencies, pricing methodologies and product presentation. Talabat Mart will also facilitate targeted marketing campaigns and curated product collections to enhance the visibility of locally produced items on its platform.
Participants will benefit from weekly and monthly demand intelligence reports alongside seasonal market analyses, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding crop planning and production strategies. All producers accepted into the programme must demonstrate compliance with established quality and food safety standards.
The initial phase will concentrate on farmers and producers in the Al Ain region, creating expanded market access and strengthening their connection with consumers throughout the UAE. Talabat Mart will provide ADAFSA with regular performance updates encompassing participant numbers, order volumes, sales metrics and demand trends to inform programme development.
Officials anticipate that this collaboration will diversify agricultural sales channels, increase consumer demand for domestically produced goods and enable participants to develop evidence-based marketing and production strategies. The initiative is expected to strengthen sectoral sustainability and competitiveness whilst enhancing the economic contribution of agriculture to both Al Ain and Abu Dhabi as a whole.
