Global Food Week 2026 Convenes International Leaders to Shape Future of Food Systems

Abu Dhabi will host a landmark gathering of governments, UN agencies and innovators as Global Food Week 2026 brings together the world's most influential voices in food security and agricultural transformation.
Global Food Week 2026 is set to cement its position as the world’s preeminent forum for dialogue and collaboration across food, agriculture and sustainability sectors. The event, taking place from 6th to 8th October 2026 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, will convene an extraordinary assembly of governments, international organisations, development institutions, private sector leaders, investors, researchers and innovators to address the defining challenges and opportunities facing global food systems.
Organised by ADNEC Group, a Modon company, in strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, Global Food Week 2026 will welcome distinguished international participants including the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and the FAO Policy Majlis. This convergence of expertise and influence will drive comprehensive discussions centred on advancing food security and accelerating transformation across agrifood systems.
Specialised Programmes and International Initiatives
The event’s international programme encompasses several flagship initiatives. The WOAH GCC & Africa Workshop will bring together experts, policymakers and specialists to strengthen technical and trade cooperation between regions, whilst developing robust institutional and animal health frameworks to support resilient and sustainable food supply chains. The workshop will emphasise the critical importance of international coordination in addressing cross-border animal health challenges.
YALAFAST, the FAO’s international youth leadership programme, will feature prominently, gathering emerging young leaders from across the globe. The initiative aims to develop leadership capabilities, promote knowledge exchange and strengthen international networks, empowering the next generation to contribute innovative solutions that support inclusive, sustainable and forward-thinking agrifood systems.
The FAO Policy Majlis will provide a dedicated platform for policy dialogue on agrifood systems transformation in the Near East and North Africa, convening policymakers, experts, youth representatives, researchers, innovators and financing partners from 7th to 8th October. Discussions will explore the transformative roles of science, technology and innovation, youth engagement, and financing pathways in advancing more efficient, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Comprehensive Ecosystem for Collaboration
These international programmes complement Global Food Week’s extensive agenda, which includes the Global Food Security Summit, AgriTech Forum, Farmers Majlis and the Abu Dhabi Honey Forum, organised in collaboration with Apimondia. Together, these platforms create an integrated ecosystem enabling stakeholders across the global food sector to exchange knowledge, explore opportunities and forge partnerships that strengthen food security worldwide.
The participation of these leading international organisations reflects Global Food Week’s rising prominence as a platform for dialogue and multilateral collaboration. By uniting governments, international organisations, research institutions, private sector leaders and decision-makers, the event advances the development of scalable solutions that enhance food security and contribute to more resilient and sustainable food systems for future generations.
