Kazakhstan Honours UAE Energy Minister with Order of Dostyk
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev bestows the prestigious Order of Friendship upon Suhail bin Mohamed Al Mazrouei in recognition of his contribution to strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation between the two nations.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has conferred the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship) of II Degree upon Suhail bin Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, honouring his instrumental role in advancing the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The distinction recognises Mr Al Mazrouei’s steadfast commitment to deepening the frameworks of cooperation and fostering the bonds of friendship that characterise relations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates. President Tokayev emphasised the exceptional foundation upon which these relations rest, built upon enduring trust and mutual strategic interests.
The Kazakh leader underscored the significant economic dimension of the bilateral partnership, identifying the UAE amongst the foremost foreign investors in Kazakhstan. During 2025, foreign direct investment flows from the Emirates to Kazakhstan reached US$1.64 billion, representing a notable increase of 3.5 per cent. This substantial investment reflects the confidence of Emirati enterprises in Kazakhstan’s economic potential and stability.
President Tokayev acknowledged the unwavering support extended by the United Arab Emirates throughout Kazakhstan’s independence journey, expressing profound gratitude for the historical positions adopted by the UAE leadership. He positioned this sustained engagement as compelling testament to the depth of friendship and collaborative spirit between the two nations, further inviting Emirati companies to expand their participation across crucial sectors including agriculture, energy, petrochemicals, mining, construction, transport and logistics, financial services, and tourism.
In his response, Mr Al Mazrouei conveyed his sincere gratitude for the honour, characterising the award as a source of considerable pride and distinction. He observed that the Order of Dostyk authentically reflects the profound nature of bilateral relations and the positive trajectory witnessed across numerous collaborative endeavours. The UAE Minister extended his appreciation to President Tokayev and the Kazakhstani government for their commitment to fostering an enabling environment conducive to the successful execution of joint investment initiatives.
