A Celebration of Emirati Craft Heritage

We are invited to immerse ourselves in a magnificent celebration of Emirati craftsmanship, where the Traditional Handicrafts Festival stands as a resplendent testament to the enduring artistry and inherited knowledge that binds generations together. This esteemed gathering honours the exquisite skills that have been carefully preserved and transmitted through families and communities, each craft embodying the profound cultural identity of the United Arab Emirates.

The twelfth iteration of this distinguished festival welcomes us to explore the intricate details of traditional handicrafts, each piece a tangible manifestation of centuries of accumulated expertise and artistic refinement. Through the Craft of the Week series, we encounter not merely objects of beauty, but repositories of wisdom and experience that transcend the passage of time, connecting us to the heritage and soul of Emirati culture.

From 23 October through 11 November 2026, the festival unfolds at Al Qattara in Al Ain, a setting that provides an appropriate and dignified backdrop for this celebration of cultural continuity. Here, amidst the carefully curated presentations and demonstrations, we discover how traditional skills serve as living guardians of identity, preserving the unique character and values that define the Emirates.

This is an opportunity to engage with the craftspeople and artisans who dedicate themselves to maintaining these precious traditions, to witness the mastery that transforms raw materials into expressions of cultural heritage, and to appreciate the profound significance of preserving such knowledge for generations to come.
