A New Generation Takes the Reins
There is something quite particular about the moment a young rider first understands the language of a horse: the subtle shift of weight, the gentle pressure of a rein, the absolute trust that develops between human and animal. It is a conversation that requires patience, respect and a genuine commitment to horsemanship that extends far beyond the saddle.
Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club has now become an Official Overseas Pony Club UK Centre, joining an international youth organisation with a distinguished heritage of cultivating excellence in young riders. The designation represents far more than a formal recognition; it is a commitment to a philosophy of equestrian education that has been refined and perfected over generations.
Through this partnership, the club continues to develop horsemanship skills in young riders whilst fostering a profound understanding of horse welfare and wellbeing. The programme builds confidence that radiates well beyond the arena, encouraging young people to become thoughtful, capable and resilient individuals. In an environment where discipline meets compassion, where technical precision sits beside pastoral knowledge, riders discover not simply how to ride, but why horsemanship matters.
Abu Dhabi’s equestrian tradition flourishes in the desert landscape and the clear light of the Gulf, where the bond between rider and horse has always held particular significance. This new centre brings together that heritage with an internationally recognised framework for youth development, creating a space where the next generation of horsemen and horsewomen can learn, grow and master a pursuit that demands integrity, dedication and grace.
