Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority Showcases Emirati Equestrian Excellence at Morocco's Prestigious Horse Festival

The UAE will present a resplendent cultural pavilion at the Salon du Cheval d'El Jadida, celebrating Arabian horse heritage and Emirati traditions through immersive exhibitions and authentic artistic performances.

The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the Emirates Arabian Horse Society will participate in the 17th edition of the Salon du Cheval d’El Jadida, one of the world’s most esteemed equestrian gatherings, from 13th to 18th October 2026 at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida. The event, organised by the Association du Salon du Cheval and themed around ‘The Horse in the Service of Humanity’, provides an extraordinary platform to advance cultural dialogue between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The UAE pavilion, developed in collaboration with distinguished public and private sector partners, presents a comprehensive showcase of the nation’s exceptional equestrian heritage. The architectural design draws profound inspiration from Qasr Al Hosn, the iconic monument that embodies Abu Dhabi’s historical narrative, incorporating authentic Emirati architectural elements, traditional motifs and exquisite decorative details that seamlessly unite the character of centuries past with the dynamism of contemporary achievement.

Within this distinguished space, visitors will encounter a curated collection of cultural treasures, including displays of the intricate artistry of Al Sadu weaving, resplendent traditional attire and jewellery, aromatic bukhoor and perfumes, and visual arts of remarkable refinement. The pavilion will also feature the UAE’s Arabian Horse Studbook, scholarly publications and compelling visual presentations that illuminate the nation’s unwavering commitment to preserving purebred Arabian horse bloodlines and traditional equestrian practices.

The exhibition encompasses an authentically appointed Emirati majlis, embodying the country’s cherished values of gracious hospitality and community, alongside a traditional Bedouin tent, known as Bayt Al Sha’r, which offers profound insight into historical Emirati life, the distinctive character of the local environment and the time honoured customs of desert hospitality.

A sophisticated cultural programme will accompany the exhibition, featuring captivating folk performances, instructive workshops on the revered traditions of Arabic coffee preparation and serving, and a poetry competition inviting Moroccan poets to explore the profound significance of horses within Arabic literature and cultural expression. A fine arts competition, inspired by horsemanship and equestrian life, will further celebrate the artistic dimensions of this noble heritage.

This noteworthy participation endeavours to elevate awareness of the UAE’s longstanding equestrian traditions, strengthen institutional cooperation with Morocco and introduce international audiences to the refined depths of Emirati cultural heritage. The El Jadida Horse Show attracts distinguished horse breeders, accomplished riders, specialist practitioners and passionate enthusiasts from across the globe, convening for competitions, exhibitions and a comprehensive programme of cultural and professional activities that celebrate the enduring significance of horses in heritage and society.
