Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre Unveils Rigorous New Broker Training Curriculum

A transformative professional development initiative launched by ADREC establishes elevated standards for real estate brokers across the emirate, combining regulatory expertise with practical market knowledge.

The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (ADREC), operating under the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, has introduced a comprehensive mandatory training curriculum designed to enhance professional competencies amongst real estate brokers seeking licensure in the emirate. Developed in partnership with Mawaheb, ThinkProp and Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), this strategic initiative represents a significant elevation of professional standards across Abu Dhabi’s property sector.

The Abu Dhabi Real Estate Broker Transformation Course establishes a unified framework for professional practice, strengthening brokers’ regulatory knowledge and advisory capabilities whilst ensuring they function as trusted advisors to investors and market participants. Through collaboration with Mawaheb, a dedicated portion of the programme will prepare 60 Emirati nationals for the professional qualifications necessary to practise real estate brokerage, thereby supporting the emirate’s broader Emiratisation objectives.

This initiative arrives at a moment of considerable expansion within Abu Dhabi’s property market. During the first half of 2026, the emirate recorded AED117 billion in real estate transactions, representing a remarkable year-on-year increase of 112 percent. ADREC issued 2,040 licences for real estate professionals during the same period—a rise of 34 percent—bringing the total number of licensed brokers to 3,302.

The curriculum integrates legal and regulatory knowledge, operational expertise, professional ethics and contemporary market practices with experiential learning components. Participants engage in comprehensive property transaction simulations and undergo rigorous professional readiness assessments. The programme commences with an open day, followed by intensive one-week instruction and three months of practical training within nine established real estate organisations.

Successful candidates receive the ADREC Certified Broker credential, which requires annual renewal to remain current with evolving legislative and regulatory developments. Participants receive comprehensive support in meeting Abu Dhabi’s professional accreditation requirements, with meaningful employment prospects following successful completion.

Rashed Al Omaira, Director General of ADREC, emphasised that establishing professional standards remains central to the centre’s regulatory mandate and its response to sustained market growth. He noted that brokers frequently serve as investors’ primary interface with the sector, and the quality of their professional counsel directly shapes the investment experience. The new curriculum establishes consistent regulatory and professional conduct standards applicable to all licensed brokers operating within Abu Dhabi.

Ibrahim Nasser, Undersecretary of the Department of Government Enablement, highlighted the programme’s alignment with UAE Emiratisation priorities, creating meaningful pathways for national talent to enter a strategically vital economic sector whilst contributing to Abu Dhabi’s sustained development.
