ADIPEC 2026 catalyses regional energy partnerships and investment flows

ADIPEC 2026 catalyses regional energy partnerships and investment flows

The global energy gathering provides a vital forum for Arab companies to forge strategic alliances and unlock investment opportunities in the region's vital sector.

The convergence of energy leaders, investors and decision-makers at ADIPEC 2026 has opened significant pathways for capital deployment and partnership development across the Arab region. The exhibition serves as a nucleus for collaboration between established energy enterprises and emerging regional players seeking to expand their reach and refine their operational capabilities.

For many participating companies, the forum represents an opportunity to present their technical expertise and track record to an international audience. Rowwad al-Qemmah (RQC), a private Iraqi energy services enterprise specialising in oil refinery operation and maintenance, exemplifies this dynamic. The company has used its participation to showcase Iraq’s enduring involvement in the global energy sector, a legacy extending back to 1921, whilst highlighting the capabilities of Iraqi professionals in managing complex petroleum infrastructure.

RQC currently operates the Karbala Refinery, one of the region’s largest, where the company has achieved operating capacity exceeding 102 per cent and sustained uninterrupted operations for two consecutive years using entirely Iraqi expertise and personnel. Hussein Takhakh, Marketing Director at RQC, noted that the exhibition provided an essential platform to explore investment opportunities and establish partnerships that could facilitate expansion into wider Arab and international markets. He emphasised that participation demonstrates Iraq’s ability to efficiently operate and manage energy facilities whilst contributing to project implementation across regional and international scales.

As we reported, ADIPEC 2026 opened Monday with 40 ministers, 239,000 attendees and 2,260 exhibitors, creating an environment conducive to knowledge exchange and strategic alliance building. The breadth of participation from leading energy companies and institutions globally reflects the sector’s recognition of the conference’s role as a catalyst for regional development. Beyond individual company objectives, the UAE is charting a course for energy security through AED200 billion investment in infrastructure through 2030, underscoring the region’s commitment to resilient and diversified energy systems.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

ADIPEC 2026 reinforces Abu Dhabi’s position as the Arab world’s premier energy hub and investment destination. By providing a platform where regional companies can establish credibility and forge partnerships with international counterparts, the conference strengthens the broader energy ecosystem and attracts capital deployment into Arab ventures that might otherwise face entry barriers in global markets.

The forum’s success in facilitating Arab energy partnerships has implications for the emirate itself, where energy security and diversification remain strategic priorities. As regional players strengthen their operational capabilities and expand their reach, they contribute to a more resilient and interconnected energy network across the Arab region, enhancing stability and economic opportunity for Abu Dhabi and its neighbours.
