ADX Recognised as Arab Exchange with Highest Market Capitalisation to GDP Ratio

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange has been honoured for its exceptional 2025 market performance, with a capitalisation-to-GDP ratio more than double the Arab regional average.

The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has received prestigious recognition as the “Arab Exchange with the Highest Market Capitalisation to GDP Ratio” for its 2025 market performance. The accolade was presented by the Arab Federation of Capital Markets (AFCM) during its Annual Conference and Gala Dinner held in Abu Dhabi.

ADX’s remarkable achievement reflects a market capitalisation-to-GDP ratio of 261.7 percent in 2025, substantially surpassing the Arab world’s average of 129.9 percent. This performance, representing more than double the Arab regional average, demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s increasingly prominent position as a mature and globally connected capital markets hub.

Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX Group, expressed the organisation’s appreciation for the recognition. “We are honoured by this distinction and motivated to advance our initiatives to broaden market access in ADX for overseas issuers and institutional investors, enhance market liquidity, and expand listings across diverse asset classes,” he stated. “We aim to foster a mature, highly liquid platform capable of driving long-term institutional growth.”

The achievement underscores ADX’s commitment to strengthening its role as a fundamental pillar of the emirate’s long-term economic development and positioning itself as a preferred gateway for global capital in the region. The organisation continues to implement strategic initiatives designed to reinforce these objectives and enhance the platform’s competitive standing in international markets.

The AFCM Annual Conference, hosted by ADX Group in Abu Dhabi, drew considerable interest from the global financial community, attracting more than 600 industry participants. Attendees included representatives from international stock exchanges, capital market regulators, clearing houses, depositories, trading firms and institutional investors, reflecting the breadth and significance of the gathering.
