Ajman Crown Prince Approves Lifelong Learning Strategic Framework and Celebrates University Excellence

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi has endorsed a comprehensive strategic framework designed to establish lifelong learning as a cornerstone of personal and community development, whilst honouring three distinguished universities for their academic achievements.
His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, has approved the Ajman Lifelong Learning Strategic Framework, marking a significant milestone in the emirate’s commitment to cultivating an integrated ecosystem of continuous learning and human capital development. The approval, delivered at the Lifelong Learning Forum organised by the Ajman Lifelong Learning Council, reflects a visionary approach to embedding learning as an essential practice throughout all stages of life.
The Strategic Framework represents a comprehensive roadmap aligned with Ajman Vision 2030: Ajman for People, establishing six principal objectives. These encompass ensuring inclusive access to lifelong learning opportunities across all societal segments, enhancing learning quality and connectivity, aligning educational pathways with labour market and economic requirements, embedding learning within family and community contexts, strengthening research and innovation capacity, and fostering a culture of continuous personal development amongst residents.
During the forum, His Highness underscored the foundational role of education in building a society equipped to navigate change and shape prosperity. He emphasised that learning represents an ongoing journey of capacity building and knowledge expansion, asserting that the Strategic Framework aims to establish learning as an intrinsic dimension of life within Ajman’s community.
The occasion also featured the Ajman Higher Education Excellence Ceremony, where three universities received recognition for their distinguished standing in the QS Quacquarelli Symonds Arab Region University Rankings 2027. Ajman University, represented by Chancellor Dr Karim Al Sagheer; Gulf Medical University, represented by Director Professor Dr Manda Venkatramana; and City University Ajman, represented by President Imran Khan, each received certificates honouring their academic achievements. His Highness affirmed that these accomplishments reflect the emirate’s advancing higher education ecosystem and underscore the critical importance of investing in education and scientific research as pillars of human development.
The Forum witnessed the unveiling of the State of Lifelong Learning in Ajman 2026 report, which documents a comprehensive landscape of learning provision across the emirate. The report identifies 256 entities offering lifelong learning opportunities, with 141 operating outside formal education structures and 115 operating within established educational frameworks. These entities encompass early childhood institutions, schools, higher education establishments, training centres, sports academies, public learning institutions including museums and libraries, and rehabilitation centres serving people of determination.
The Strategic Framework operates through three integrated learning tracks addressing academic, professional and community development, whilst prioritising access for youth, women, senior citizens, people of determination, lower-income communities and jobseekers. Its governance architecture emphasises institutional readiness, strategic coordination and implementation capacity, positioning the Ajman Lifelong Learning Council to orchestrate partner efforts and translate strategic priorities into tangible community benefit.
Reflecting on the approval, His Highness emphasised that progress in academic rankings serves not as an endpoint but as an impetus for continued development and innovation. He highlighted the imperative of strengthening connections between educational and research outcomes and the practical needs of society and economy, thereby solidifying universities’ instrumental role in advancing sustainable development.
