Al Ain Farms Group Positions Camelait as Global Leader in Premium Camel Milk

The UAE's leading protein producer has unveiled a transformed brand identity and secured strategic partnerships across Europe and Asia, whilst advancing camel milk research through collaboration with Khalifa University.
Al Ain Farms Group has repositioned Camelait, its camel milk brand, as a centrepiece of international expansion, unveiling a comprehensive strategy at Global Food Week in Abu Dhabi that encompasses production partnerships in Germany and China, alongside dedicated research initiatives within the Emirates.
Building upon two decades of camel milk expertise commencing in 2001, the Group has adopted an international model designed to establish production facilities proximate to consumer markets whilst developing products aligned with local preferences and consumption patterns. The strategy reflects a deliberate approach: manufacturing closer to the market, tailoring products for specific regions, and leveraging UAE expertise to advance the broader camel milk category.
Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, characterised the initiative as exemplifying how Emirati enterprises combine heritage authenticity with contemporary innovation. “Under the guidance of our wise leadership, the UAE continues to build a competitive economic model rooted in innovation, knowledge, and openness to global markets,” he stated, noting that such ventures strengthen the nation’s position as a global trade hub whilst elevating Emirati brands internationally.
The global camel milk market is projected to reach approximately $24 billion by 2030, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 9.4 per cent, according to Grand View Research. This expansion reflects growing consumer recognition of camel milk’s nutritional profile, which includes naturally elevated vitamin C and iron content, absence of β-lactoglobulin—a common milk allergen—and protective proteins and enzymes that support sustained nourishment.
Within the UAE, Al Ain Farms Group has established a collaborative partnership with Khalifa University and Khalifa University Enterprises Company to translate camel milk research into commercially viable applications and products. This partnership aims to support technology transfer, facilitate commercial development, and cultivate emerging food science talent within the nation.
European expansion proceeds through a joint venture with Belgium-based Eurofit, establishing operations within Abu Dhabi Global Market to manufacture and commercialise Camelait regionally. Germany will function as the hub for broader European distribution, initially producing ultra-high temperature camel milk in glass bottles before progressing into additional value-added products targeting the nutrition and supplements sector.
In China, Camelait continues to develop its presence through established partnerships with Zhejiang Hengsheng Holding as exclusive distributor and Suzhou Biology Healthy Technology Co., Ltd as the local manufacturing partner, producing extended-shelf-life camel milk formulated for Chinese consumer preferences.
The expansion strategy follows international recognition of camel milk’s quality standards, with the Codex Alimentarius Commission approving a UAE-led initiative to establish the first international standard for pasteurised camel milk, strengthening production safety protocols and fostering international confidence in the category as global commerce develops.
