The General Secretariat of the Arab Media Award has opened submissions for its 26th edition, welcoming entries until 1 March 2027 across journalism and visual media disciplines.
The Arab Media Award, organised by the Dubai Press Club, has announced the commencement of submissions for its 26th edition, with entries now accepted through 1 March 2027. This prestigious accolade continues its tradition of honouring exceptional contributions to Arab media, celebrating work that elevates professional standards, champions innovation and strengthens journalism’s essential service to Arab communities.
Established in 1999 under the visionary directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Award has evolved considerably since its inception as the Arab Journalism Award. Following a comprehensive revamp in 2021, it now encompasses a broader spectrum of media disciplines, reflecting the dynamic transformation of the Arab media landscape under the continued guidance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
The Award structure comprises two principal categories: the Arab Journalism Award and the Visual Media Award, alongside the distinction of Media Personality of the Year, bestowed by the Award’s Board of Directors upon individuals whose endeavours have profoundly enriched Arab media.
The Arab Journalism Award encompasses four specialised categories: Political Journalism, Economic Journalism, Investigative Reporting and Best Columnist. The Visual Media Award spans five categories: Best Economic Programme, Best Cultural Programme, Best Sports Programme, Best Social Programme and Best Documentary Project.
