Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi arrives in Aqaba for landmark railway project ceremony

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan touches down in Jordan for a working visit centred on the groundbreaking ceremony of a transformative regional infrastructure initiative.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has arrived in Aqaba, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on a working visit to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Aqaba–Al-Shidiyeh–Maan Railway Project.
Royal reception and military welcome
His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, led the official reception upon arrival at King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, accompanied by several senior Jordanian officials. The significance of the visit was underscored by a ceremonial military escort, with aircraft from the Royal Jordanian Air Force accompanying His Highness’s aircraft as it entered Jordanian airspace—a gesture reflecting the diplomatic warmth and strategic importance of the occasion.
Infrastructure partnership
The working visit centres on the Crown Prince’s participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Aqaba–Al-Shidiyeh–Maan Railway Project, a substantial undertaking that represents deepening cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan in advancing regional infrastructure and economic connectivity.
