Deputy Ruler of Sharjah Inaugurates Transformative Charitable Projects in Philippine Mindanao

H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi has officially opened Dar Al Rahma Orphanage and laid the foundation stone for Al Reeh Al Mursala Village, exemplifying the UAE's unwavering commitment to humanitarian endeavours across the globe.
In a momentous occasion that underscores the UAE’s profound dedication to charitable endeavours, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, has inaugurated Dar Al Rahma Orphanage and formally commenced construction of Al Reeh Al Mursala Village in the Dinas district of Mindanao, Philippines.
His Highness emphasised that humanitarian and charitable work constitutes the very bedrock of the Emirates’ values, reflecting an enduring commitment to supporting communities in need throughout the world. The UAE, he affirmed, conveys a message of goodness, compassion and humanity that transcends the boundaries of race and ethnicity, bringing diverse peoples together in shared purpose.
The village development, facilitated through the esteemed Al Reeh Al Mursala programme of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority in partnership with Sharjah Charity International, represents an integrated approach to community uplift. The initiative will comprise sixty dwellings, each thoughtfully designed with two bedrooms and a living space to accommodate family units. The comprehensive infrastructure includes an artesian well ensuring a sustainable supply of pure water, and a vocational centre dedicated to enhancing residents’ capabilities and fostering economic independence through skill development.
The Deputy Ruler subsequently toured Dar Al Rahma Orphanage, where he ceremonially opened the facility that will provide sanctuary for fifty children. The establishment encompasses meticulously appointed residential quarters, educational spaces including four classrooms and a computer laboratory, a place of worship, a sewing institute for mothers seeking to develop professional skills and generate household income, commercial facilities promoting local enterprise, and administrative offices. Every element has been conceived to provide comfort, security and opportunity for personal development.
Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, elucidated the significance of this humanitarian partnership, noting how the Al Reeh Al Mursala programme, transmitted across Sharjah Television and Sharjah Radio, has mobilised the generosity of donors to establish villages, healthcare facilities and transformative projects that fundamentally improve living conditions and create sustainable economic prospects for disadvantaged communities.
His Highness commended all those whose philanthropic support has enabled these endeavours, affirming that such initiatives foster dignity, stability and the development of educated, productive societies. The occasion concluded with His Highness engaging warmly with the orphans and their mothers, who expressed profound gratitude for the opening of their new sanctuary.
