DP World Tour schedules six GCC events for 2027, including two in Abu Dhabi
The DP World Tour will open 2027 with a four‑week Gulf swing and close its season in the UAE. Abu Dhabi hosts the Team Cup in January and the Abu Dhabi Championship in November.
Gulf swing opens the season
The DP World Tour has confirmed a 2027 global schedule that includes six tournaments staged across the Gulf Cooperation Council. The region will host four consecutive weeks of competition at the start of the calendar year, beginning with the Team Cup at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort from 15 to 17 January.
The Middle East run then moves to Emirates Golf Club for the 38th Hero Dubai Desert Classic from 21 to 24 January, a Rolex Series event, followed by the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship at Royal Golf Club from 28 to 31 January and the Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club from 3 to 6 February.
Season finale returns to the UAE
The DP World Tour returns to the UAE for its season conclusion. The Play‑Offs commence with the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from 4 to 7 November and conclude with the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from 11 to 14 November, where the Race to Dubai will be decided.
Three of the Tour’s five Rolex Series events will be staged in the UAE in 2027: the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, the Abu Dhabi Championship and the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai. The remaining Rolex Series tournaments are the Genesis Scottish Open (8–11 July) and the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club (23–26 September).
Across the wider calendar, 42 tournaments in 24 countries will count towards the Race to Dubai. The schedule sees the return of three historic national Opens: the Hong Kong Open, the Deutsche Bank Singapore Open and the Open de Portugal|Cascais‑Lisboa. Hong Kong and Singapore will be co‑sanctioned with the Asian Tour as part of a new tri‑partite partnership that includes the PGA Tour.
Guy Kinnings, the DP World Tour’s Chief Executive, welcomed the reinstatement of several national Opens. He said: “The return of historic national Opens in Singapore and Portugal means 17 prestigious national Opens will feature on our 2027 global schedule, along with other popular international championships and events played around the world.” He added that the schedule “offers incredible international opportunities for existing and new players and one which will appeal to our fans globally.”
The inclusion of two Abu Dhabi venues underlines the emirate’s continuing role in international golf, hosting both an early‑season team match play event and a key stop in the Play‑Offs as the Tour heads towards its season‑ending showdown in Dubai.
