du Achieves Record 5G+ Speeds at Mall of the Emirates
The telecommunications provider has successfully deployed advanced 5G-Advanced connectivity across Majid Al Futtaim's flagship destination, delivering sustained speeds exceeding 3.5 Gbps and enhancing the digital experience for visitors and retailers.
du has achieved a significant milestone in next-generation wireless connectivity with the successful deployment of 5G-Advanced (5G+) indoor infrastructure at Mall of the Emirates. Executed in collaboration with Huawei, the ambitious project represents a notable advancement in retail and entertainment digital infrastructure across the UAE.
The deployment encompasses more than 150 strategically positioned antennas distributed throughout the destination, engineered to ensure robust signal quality and uninterrupted high-speed coverage across both principal and secondary areas of the mall. The sophisticated network architecture employs three-band carrier aggregation, consolidating a combined bandwidth of 300 MHz through a single antenna configuration. This comprises 200 MHz on the N78 band and 100 MHz on the N41 band, delivering technological performance substantially beyond conventional systems.
The infrastructure has delivered consistent data speeds exceeding 3.5 Gbps, representing more than 50 per cent higher throughput compared with conventional 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) network performance. This substantial improvement addresses the evolving connectivity demands of modern retail and entertainment venues, where seamless, high-capacity connectivity has become integral to customer experience.
