Dubai and Khorezm Convene for Landmark Business Seminar on Trade and Investment

A prestigious gathering at Dubai Chambers brought together government and business leaders from the Uzbek region of Khorezm to explore expansive opportunities for economic partnership and mutual growth across multiple sectors.

Dubai Chambers orchestrated a momentous business seminar, welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Khorezm region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Jurabek Rakhimov, Governor of Khorezm, to contemplate the considerable prospects for strengthened trade and investment collaboration between Dubai and this dynamic region.

The gathering, convened at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters, attracted an impressive assembly of 180 participants, encompassing 35 government representatives and prominent business leaders from Khorezm. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Umid Shadiev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, graced the proceedings with their presence and engagement.

The seminar proved an illuminating forum for exploring multifaceted avenues of economic cooperation, with participants delving into opportunities spanning tourism, real estate, technology, trade and logistics, manufacturing, education, and retail sectors. The programme featured presentations of considerable substance, articulating the economic synergies available to both markets and elucidating the distinctive trade and investment advantages each jurisdiction offers.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah underscored Dubai Chambers’ unwavering dedication to fostering deeper connections between Dubai’s business community and Uzbekistan’s commercial landscape. He observed that the expanding economic relationship between the markets presents substantial potential for productive partnerships, and affirmed the institution’s commitment to enabling businesses to identify and cultivate promising opportunities into enduring, mutually advantageous collaborations.

Lootah elaborated upon Dubai’s considerable strengths as a commercial hub, noting its strategic geographical position, sophisticated infrastructure, and extensive international trade networks, which collectively furnish Uzbek enterprises with a compelling platform for accessing new markets and amplifying their global reach. He reiterated Dubai Chambers’ focus upon strengthening business connections, facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge, and assisting Khorezm’s business community in capitalising upon the manifold growth opportunities Dubai presents.

The economic relationship between these partners demonstrates remarkable vitality. Non-oil trade between Dubai and Uzbekistan has expanded substantially, rising from AED1.7 billion in 2021 to AED10.3 billion in 2025, representing an extraordinary expansion of more than 505 percent. Furthermore, 75 new Uzbek companies joined Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the initial half of 2026, reflecting growing confidence in Dubai as a commercial destination and gateway.

The seminar concluded with networking sessions affording participants opportunity to investigate potential partnerships and explore collaborative possibilities aligned with their strategic aspirations and expansion objectives.
