Dubai Gold Designers Business Group Charts Ambitious Course for Global Expansion
The industry body has unveiled a comprehensive strategy to elevate Dubai's jewellery design sector on the international stage, combining education, strategic partnerships and targeted market access.
The Dubai Gold Designers Business Group, operating under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, has announced a strategic framework designed to strengthen the international presence of Dubai’s jewellery design community whilst preserving the individual identity of member brands.
The initiative represents 50 members spanning jewellery design, entrepreneurship and allied creative sectors. Its three-pillar approach focuses on education and professional development, business partnerships, and international representation.
A cornerstone of the strategy is the proposed three-year International Representation Programme, establishing a sustainable model for collective global promotion. The first year will prioritise model establishment and pilot initiatives, the second year will expand international partnerships with buyers and media, whilst the third year will evaluate outcomes and establish long-term funding mechanisms.
International event selection will be guided by rigorous criteria encompassing buyer quality, market potential, export opportunities, media reach, sector standing, cost-effectiveness and alignment with Dubai’s broader economic priorities. Participating businesses must demonstrate commercial readiness, product excellence, professional standards and regulatory compliance.
According to Maha Al Sibai, Chairwoman of the Dubai Gold Designers Business Group, the strategy aims to create meaningful pathways to international growth. “Our ambition is to give Dubai-based jewellery designers and entrepreneurs greater access to the relationships, knowledge and international platforms that can help them grow sustainably. At the same time, we want the international presence of our members to reflect Dubai’s strength as a destination for creativity, entrepreneurship, craftsmanship and business,” she said.
The Group’s previous international engagement has encompassed activities in Mumbai, Jaipur and Bangkok, professional development initiatives in Bahrain and Florence, and collaborations with gemological and educational organisations. The strategy will evaluate impact through commercial and reputational indicators including qualified buyer meetings, retailer introductions, business leads, export opportunities and media exposure.
The framework particularly strengthens opportunities for emerging talent, women founders and independent professionals to develop industry knowledge, establish professional standards and cultivate international business networks.
