Dubai Set to Welcome Concordia Horizon Summit in Historic Middle East Debut

The emirate will host the prestigious international leadership gathering in May 2027, reinforcing its position as a global platform for fostering strategic partnerships and economic collaboration.
Dubai is poised to make international headlines by hosting the Concordia Horizon Summit for the first time in the Middle East, under the distinguished patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance. The landmark event will take place in May 2027, bringing together government leaders, business executives and influential decision makers from around the world.
The summit represents a significant endorsement of Dubai’s standing as a global centre for commerce, innovation and international dialogue. Participants will convene to address pressing global challenges, identify fresh avenues for cooperation, and catalyse public-private partnerships that drive meaningful economic and social progress. The gathering will be distinguished by the announcement of high-impact initiatives positioning Dubai as an international leader in sustainable economic development and strategic collaboration.
Dubai’s selection to host this prestigious event was announced at the Concordia Annual Summit in New York in September 2026, held alongside the UN General Assembly. The decision underscores international recognition of the emirate’s exceptional capacity to serve as a convening platform where leaders across sectors can translate dialogue into tangible opportunities.
Organised in partnership with the Department of Finance for the Government of Dubai, the summit will focus on topics of significance to both the Middle East region and the wider world. It reflects Dubai’s unwavering commitment to creating an optimal environment where international conversation transforms into actionable initiatives that advance key sectors and unlock fresh avenues for economic and investment cooperation throughout the Middle East and beyond.
Abdulrahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director-General of the Department of Finance for the Government of Dubai, emphasised that the emirate’s approach to shaping the future centres on convening intellectuals, experts and decision makers around a unified vision, then translating that alignment into concrete measures that strengthen economies and enhance future readiness. He highlighted that hosting the Concordia Horizon Summit reinforces Dubai’s global reputation as a hub for creating opportunities and building partnerships through leading international events that address priority issues and foster synergy between governments, businesses and investors.
Rodney Ferguson, CEO of Concordia, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the Horizon Summit to the region for the first time. He noted clear alignment between Dubai’s position as a global crossroads for innovation, investment and economic growth, and Concordia’s mission to bring together voices from countless sectors in pursuit of meaningful dialogue and outcomes.
Concordia, established in 2011, is a respected US-based non-profit organisation providing an international platform for top decision makers and cross-sector leaders to foster strategic partnerships. The organisation’s track record includes launching significant initiatives such as Prosper Africa, which has mobilised over $800 million in private investment for African infrastructure and climate adaptation, and numerous healthcare and conservation programmes delivering transformative impact globally.
Further details regarding the summit’s programme, distinguished participants and key areas of focus will be announced in the coming months.
