The emirate will host a landmark gathering of cardiovascular specialists and researchers from across the globe, marking a historic first for the Middle East and North Africa region.
Dubai is poised to welcome a distinguished international congregation of cardiovascular medicine professionals this October, as the emirate plays host to the 31st International Society of Hypertension Scientific Meeting, held in conjunction with the 17th Emirates Cardiac Society Annual Conference. Taking place from 22nd to 25th October 2026, this momentous occasion represents the inaugural hosting of this esteemed international gathering within the Middle East and North Africa, signifying a remarkable achievement for the United Arab Emirates and its flourishing medical community.
The Emirates Cardiac Society, working in concert with Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, orchestrated a successful joint bid to secure this prestigious opportunity. The dual conference structure harmoniously combines the society’s commitment to fostering connections between regional healthcare practitioners and the broader international scientific community, whilst simultaneously positioning the region’s distinguished clinical expertise, research endeavours and healthcare aspirations at the forefront of global discourse regarding hypertension and cardiovascular wellness.
Over the course of four days, this convergence will unite hypertension specialists, cardiologists, researchers and healthcare professionals in a rich tapestry of scientific exchange, intellectual advancement and collaborative endeavour. The scientific programme promises an extraordinary breadth of engagement, encompassing 290 research submissions originating from more than 70 countries worldwide, including contributions from Pakistan, India, Brazil, the United States, Egypt, Jordan and Kenya.
The conference will feature 160 distinguished speakers from beyond the UAE and the Gulf region, complemented by 140 esteemed speakers based within the Emirates, reflecting both the remarkable depth of international participation and the considerable expertise that the UAE brings to this global conversation. Attendees will benefit from an expansive scientific curriculum comprising more than 380 lectures and five specialised workshops, each exploring the contemporary scientific developments and practical applications within hypertension and cardiovascular medicine.
Professional development constitutes a cornerstone of the conference experience. The gathering has received accreditation from the European Board for Accreditation of Continuing Education for Health Professionals (EBAC), affording participants 23 hours of continuing medical education credits. A particular emphasis on nurturing emerging talent ensures that early-career and mid-career professionals will encounter substantial opportunities for scientific participation, scholarships, professional advancement and recognition, thereby supporting the cultivation of the next generation of distinguished clinicians and researchers.
