Dubai Unites Global Media and Space Communities at CABSAT and SATExpo 2026

The emirate welcomes nearly 19,000 visitors and 600 exhibitors from 120 countries as flagship events showcase technological innovation and industry collaboration

Dubai has established itself as a convergence point for the world’s media, broadcast and space technology sectors with the simultaneous inauguration of CABSAT 2026 and SATExpo 2026 at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. Buti Saeed Al Ghandi, Vice Chairman of Dubai World Trade Centre, formally opened the 33rd edition of CABSAT alongside the second iteration of SATExpo, which runs through 7th October.

The twin events represent a significant moment for the region’s creative and technological landscape. CABSAT is expected to attract more than 18,800 visitors alongside 450 exhibiting companies and 700 brands from over 120 countries. The conference programme will feature more than 150 speakers delivering fifty hours of industry content. SATExpo will similarly draw more than 150 exhibitors from over 70 countries, complemented by eighty expert speakers addressing the satellite and space technology sectors.

The strategic partnerships underpinning both events reflect Dubai’s institutional commitment to industry excellence. CABSAT operates in partnership with Dubai Studio City, whilst the UAE Space Agency provides strategic support to SATExpo, underscoring the government’s investment in advancing technological capability and knowledge exchange.

Majed Al Suwaidi, Senior Vice President of Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City, Dubai Production City and in5, emphasised the emirate’s evolution as a global content production hub. He highlighted recent investments in advanced infrastructure, international talent development and emerging technologies, noting that innovation within media and broadcast sectors is creating new opportunities across the creative value chain. The Dubai Studio City Sound Stage Tour offers participants behind-the-scenes access to the region’s professional production infrastructure.

ContentVerse Director’s Cut, CABSAT’s curated conference track, explores contemporary industry challenges including content strategy, monetisation, artificial intelligence and emerging storytelling formats. Panel discussions address the next-generation broadcast ecosystem, whilst sessions on AI-powered immersive experiences and cloud-powered media reflect the industry’s technological evolution. The Co-Production Salon initiative connects content creators with investors and international collaborators, supporting new development and commercial partnerships.

SATExpo’s programme encompasses innovation showcases, space technology demonstrations and dedicated startup zones, bringing together major industry players including APSTAR, Eutelsat, Hughes and Space Communication Technologies. The SATExpo Summit, held from 6th to 7th October under the theme ‘Connectivity, Intelligence and the New Space Economy,’ will convene leading experts from space, technology, telecommunications and regulatory sectors, creating platforms for exploring emerging technologies and commercial partnerships.
