The opening session of the 2026 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix draws ever closer, with precisely fifty days remaining until the world’s most accomplished drivers arrive at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit. Taking place from December 3 to 6, this distinguished event will once again establish itself as the resplendent finale to the Formula One World Championship, whilst simultaneously hosting the vibrant Yasalam festival, presenting a magnificent convergence of motorsport excellence and world-class entertainment.
This forthcoming edition will mark a historic milestone, welcoming eleven Formula 1 teams to Abu Dhabi for the inaugural time, representing an expansion from the previous season’s contingent. The racing programme will extend beyond the pinnacle of motorsport, with the Formula 2 Championship concluding in the UAE capital, whilst the newly established AZM GT championship will debut as a support race, presenting its non-championship Trophy Round to the international audience.
The Yasalam festival, presented by etisalat, promises an extraordinary tapestry of musical and entertainment offerings, with an unprecedented eleven artists already confirmed for the programme. Ticket availability reflects the extraordinary enthusiasm surrounding the event, with the Main Grandstand, North Grandstand and numerous other categories already fully allocated. The organisers anticipate a complete sellout, with particularly robust demand emanating from across the United Arab Emirates and the wider region, whilst international sales continue their steady acceleration as the event approaches. Attendees are anticipated to arrive from 106 nations, affirming Abu Dhabi’s position as a truly global destination.
The Grand Prix carries profound significance beyond the exhilaration of competition and entertainment. The 2025 edition generated AED 1.3 billion in visitor expenditure, demonstrating the event’s substantial economic contribution. Approximately 40,000 professionals participated in event delivery, with UAE-based personnel comprising ninety percent of all accredited staff, whilst two hundred and thirty local small and medium enterprises secured contracts as event suppliers. These figures underscore the Grand Prix’s role as a catalyst for community opportunity and economic prosperity throughout the emirate.
Commencing during the UAE’s Union Day celebrations, the 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix shall form an integral component of the nation’s festivities and occupy a position of prominence within the capital’s sporting and cultural calendar. The event exemplifies Abu Dhabi’s unwavering commitment to hosting world-class competitions that unite international communities whilst generating enduring benefits for local businesses, employment opportunities and long-term investment prospects.
