FNC and Ukrainian Parliament Explore Strengthened Diplomatic Ties

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi meets with Ukrainian parliamentary leadership at the 153rd IPU Assembly to advance bilateral cooperation and parliamentary dialogue
The Federal National Council has reinforced its commitment to enhanced parliamentary cooperation with Ukraine through high-level discussions held during the 153rd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Arusha, Tanzania.
Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, head of the FNC Group in the IPU and Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee, met with Oleksandr Korniyenko, Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, to explore avenues for deepened engagement between the two nations’ legislative bodies.
The dialogue centred on strengthening parliamentary coordination and fostering consultation within regional and international forums. Both delegations exchanged perspectives on matters of mutual concern featured in the Assembly’s agenda, demonstrating the breadth of shared interests between the UAE and Ukraine.
Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasised the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in cultivating mutual understanding and facilitating constructive dialogue across borders. He drew particular attention to the IPU Task Force’s initiatives aimed at achieving peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, underlining the importance of coordinated international parliamentary support for peace-building endeavours.
Both parties expressed appreciation for the robust bilateral relationship already established between the Emirates and Ukraine. They reaffirmed their dedication to expanding cooperation across sectors that would benefit both nations and advance their shared interests.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Federal National Council, reflecting the significance placed upon this engagement and the commitment to sustained parliamentary collaboration at the highest levels.
