Gasparrini Claims Tre Valli Varesine Victory for UAE Team L’IMAD

Italian cyclist Eleonora Gasparrini delivered a commanding performance in Italy to secure her maiden victory of the season, continuing UAE Team L'IMAD's dominance in the prestigious women's race.
Italian professional cyclist Eleonora Gasparrini of UAE Team L’IMAD claimed a decisive victory at the Tre Valli Varesine Women’s Race in Varese, Italy, on Tuesday, marking her first triumph of the 2026 season.
Gasparrini secured the win through a powerful sprint finish, outpacing Canada’s Sarah van Dam of Team Visma | Lease a Bike, with Switzerland’s Noemi Rüegg completing the podium in third position.
The victory represents a second consecutive success in this prestigious Italian cycling event for UAE Team L’IMAD, building upon compatriot Elisa Longo Borghini’s triumph the previous year. This demonstrates the calibre and consistency of the team’s roster in competitive continental racing.
Speaking after her victory, Gasparrini highlighted the strength of her team’s tactical execution throughout the race. “I’m really happy. I think we played it very well as a team. Karlijn Swinkels did a great job getting into the breakaway,” she explained. “In the finale, we kept the pace very high and I tried to hang on. When we caught the breakaway, my teammates gave me a perfect lead-out and I just had to finish it off. I’m really happy.”
The Italian cyclist’s success underscores the effectiveness of UAE Team L’IMAD’s collaborative approach to racing, where disciplined teamwork and strategic positioning proved decisive in the closing moments of this demanding competition.
