Global Food Week 2026 reinforces Abu Dhabi’s standing as international food security hub

The prestigious event fostered meaningful partnerships and advanced dialogue on sustainable food systems, with the inaugural Farmers' Council providing a pivotal platform for industry collaboration.
Global Food Week 2026 has successfully reinforced Abu Dhabi’s distinguished position within the international food security landscape, drawing considerable participation from governments, enterprises, thought leaders and policy makers.
Organised by ADNEC Group, a Modon company, in strategic collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), the event provided a comprehensive forum to examine innovations and solutions that are shaping the trajectory of global food systems.
The programme encompassed the Global Food Security Summit and the AgriTech Forum, complemented by specialised sessions exploring innovation, sustainability and emerging technological advances. A significant highlight was the launch of the Farmers’ Council, a new initiative established to facilitate knowledge exchange amongst farmers, specialists and industry participants, whilst enabling exploration of contemporary agricultural methodologies and solutions.
According to Soumaya Al Marzouqi, the event’s official spokesperson, the convergence of international participants and the implementation of the Hosted Buyers Programme proved instrumental in generating substantive investment and business prospects. These mechanisms encouraged constructive cooperation across the diverse sectors within the food industry.
The outcomes emerging from the week’s proceedings are anticipated to catalyse additional partnerships and collaborative ventures, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a preeminent centre for international dialogue, technological advancement and coordinated action on food security matters.
