Global Food Week 2026 unveils retail innovation and welcomes India as Guest of Honour

The premier international gathering for food and agriculture leaders introduces Shop at the Show alongside an extensive programme of forums, summits and interactive experiences

Global Food Week 2026, taking place from 6th to 8th October at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, has announced a transformative array of enhancements that reinforce its standing as the world’s preeminent platform for food and agricultural innovation. Organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with ADAFSA, this year’s edition promises unprecedented opportunities for industry professionals, investors, researchers and entrepreneurs.

A cornerstone addition is Shop at the Show, a pioneering business-to-consumer retail platform enabling direct transactions between producers and visitors. The dedicated shopping areas will showcase food, beverages, honey, dates and agricultural products from distinguished local and international brands, creating an accessible marketplace within the event.

The Republic of India’s designation as Guest of Honour reflects the deepening strategic partnership between the UAE and India, whilst acknowledging India’s transformative influence on global food systems and agricultural innovation. A dedicated pavilion will facilitate enhanced collaboration among government entities, institutions and businesses from both nations, fostering dialogue on food security, sustainable agriculture and agricultural technology. The Indian presence will span multiple sectors including exports, retail, logistics, packaging, technology and investment, whilst also celebrating Indian culture and cuisine through integrated programming.

The event’s interactive experiences encompass the returning World Gourmet Show, featuring live culinary demonstrations by renowned chefs showcasing international cuisines and innovative techniques. The Honey Tasting Station offers visitors an immersive exploration of honey varieties from the UAE and globally, whilst the Farmers Market reconnects visitors directly with local agricultural producers.

For industry professionals, the Hosted Buyers Programme provides a curated environment for targeted networking and commercial engagement, whilst the Announcements Stage hosts product launches and strategic partnership signings.

The comprehensive professional programme includes the Global Food Security Summit on 6th and 7th October, examining international cooperation frameworks, food cluster excellence, smart technology and next-generation leadership development. Running throughout the event, the AgriTech Forum explores technological advancement, investment models and artificial intelligence applications across agricultural production systems.

The Abu Dhabi Honey Symposium, held in collaboration with Apimondia, convenes experts and policymakers to address sustainable beekeeping in arid environments and climate adaptation. The Farmers Majlis provides dedicated engagement with the UAE farming community, whilst the World Organisation for Animal Health GCC & Africa Workshop focuses on safe trade pathways and transboundary health challenges.

Youth leadership receives dedicated focus through YalaFast, the FAO’s international programme nurturing emerging leaders and fostering locally-driven solutions for sustainable agrifood systems. The FAO Policy Majlis on 7th and 8th October brings together policymakers, experts and financing partners to address regional agrifood challenges and opportunities, emphasising science, technology, youth engagement and investment pathways.
