H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Embarks on Significant Working Visit to China
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah arrives in Shenzhen to lead high-level delegation discussions and advance strategic partnerships across Guangdong and Fujian provinces
H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has arrived in Shenzhen to commence a comprehensive working visit to the People’s Republic of China, an undertaking that will extend through 23rd October and encompass several prominent cities across Guangdong and Fujian provinces.
The distinguished delegation accompanying His Highness comprises senior officials and heads of various government entities and institutions from the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Throughout the visit, the delegation will engage in a meticulously structured programme of meetings with senior Chinese government officials and prominent leaders of major Chinese companies and institutions, with the objective of exploring mutually beneficial opportunities for cooperation and strategic partnership.
Upon arrival at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, H.H. was received by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, UAE Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, alongside Maryam Al Shamsi, UAE Consul General in Guangzhou, and senior Chinese officials, reflecting the significance of the occasion.
The visit encompasses several noteworthy engagements, including H.H.’s participation in the Ras Al Khaimah–China Business Summit, organised in Shenzhen to foster commercial dialogue and identify investment opportunities. The delegation will also undertake visits to prominent Chinese companies and institutions, facilitating direct engagement and knowledge exchange.
A particularly significant element of the visit will be the formal inauguration of Ras Al Khaimah’s representative office in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, representing an important milestone in strengthening the emirate’s institutional presence within China. Following this, H.H. will travel to Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province, where the signing of an agreement to establish friendly relations between the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and the province is scheduled to take place.
This visit represents a natural progression of the flourishing relations between the United Arab Emirates and the People’s Republic of China. It builds meaningfully upon the substantial progress achieved through H.H.’s two visits to China in 2024, during which time the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong Province formalised a comprehensive cooperation agreement in November of that year. The present undertaking further reinforces the emirate’s strategic commitment to deepening its engagement with Chinese cities and provinces, fostering enduring partnerships that serve the interests of both regions.
