Jood and du recognised for pioneering digital philanthropy in the Middle East

A transformative platform enabling community contributions has won prestigious recognition for its innovative approach to corporate social responsibility, demonstrating how strategic technology partnerships can strengthen civic participation.

Recognition has come to Jood, Dubai’s Community Contributions Establishment, and its technology partner du for reimagining how individuals and institutions direct their giving towards community priorities. The partnership received the Best CSR Initiative in the Middle East award at the Telecom Review Awards, an acknowledgement of their work in building an integrated digital ecosystem that places transparency and shared purpose at its centre.

The platform represents a thoughtful convergence of community expertise and technological capability. By creating a digital space where individuals and organisations can participate meaningfully in addressing identified social needs, Jood has worked to strengthen the relationship between public and private sectors whilst improving how resources are allocated towards initiatives that matter most to Dubai’s communities. As we reported in our coverage of Dubai’s Community Development Authority and Jood partnership to advance priority social initiatives, such collaborative approaches are essential to channelling contributions effectively.

Marwan Rashid bin Hashem, Chief Executive of Jood, observed that the award reflects Dubai’s commitment to developing innovative and sustainable models of corporate social responsibility. He emphasised that the recognition validates the joint efforts to establish an ecosystem built on transparency, trust and complementary roles. The platform seeks to facilitate participation in giving and direct contributions towards community priorities, whilst supporting the objectives of Dubai Social Agenda 33.

Hanan Ahmad, Chief Regulatory and Shared Services Officer at du, described the partnership as an effective model of public and private collaboration. She noted that leveraging technology to enhance community engagement helps initiatives reach their intended beneficiaries, address identified priorities and connect technological capabilities with the actual needs of communities, ultimately supporting sustainable social impact in line with Dubai’s vision.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

The recognition of Jood and du’s platform extends beyond Dubai to offer broader significance for the Emirates. The award demonstrates how the region continues to innovate in creating frameworks that strengthen civic participation and corporate social responsibility, positioning the UAE as a leader in thoughtful, technology enabled approaches to community development.

This model of strategic partnership between government entities and private sector technology providers suggests a pathway for other emirates seeking to enhance their own community engagement initiatives. By combining digital expertise with social mission, such collaborations create scalable solutions that improve resource efficiency whilst building trust between institutions and the communities they serve.
