Khatawat Program Forum Guides Students from Martyr Families Towards Promising Academic Futures

A comprehensive educational forum brought together Grade 12 students from families of UAE martyrs, offering expert guidance on university pathways, career opportunities and financial literacy to support their transition into higher education and professional life.

The Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office at the Presidential Court, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Nafis and Zoud, organised an enriching educational forum on 10 October 2026 at Etihad Museum in Dubai. The Khatawat Program forum convened 28 Grade 12 students from the families of UAE martyrs, providing them with comprehensive guidance to navigate their academic and professional futures.

A Unified Approach to Educational Pathways

Held under the theme Towards a Promising Career Future, the forum created an integrated learning experience that combined practical academic guidance with cultural enrichment. The gathering brought together multiple governmental and national initiatives to offer students holistic support in selecting university majors and higher education pathways that align with their individual interests, abilities and career aspirations.

His Excellency Abdullah Ghurair Al Qubaisi, Director of the Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office, emphasised the office’s commitment to empowering the children of UAE martyrs throughout their educational journey. “The forum reflects our dedication to supporting and guiding these exceptional students, providing them with the knowledge and resources needed to build academic and professional futures aligned with their abilities and aspirations,” he stated.

Navigating Higher Education and the Labour Market

The Ministry of Education delivered a comprehensive guidance session addressing students’ academic and career trajectories, certificate equivalency procedures and the University Readiness Program (INTILAQA), enabling students to plan their educational pathways with confidence and make informed decisions about their futures.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research highlighted its efforts to streamline the student journey through advanced digital platforms. Through EduHub, a unified digital higher education gateway enhanced by artificial intelligence technologies, students can explore academic disciplines and programmes, understand admission requirements and scholarship opportunities, and access digital services that facilitate early exploration of educational options. This integrated approach empowers students to align their academic choices with labour market needs and priority economic sectors.

Financial Literacy and National Priorities

Nafis presented its initiatives and programmes, emphasising the importance of aligning students’ academic choices with national talent development priorities and labour market requirements. Zoud delivered a specialised financial literacy session that strengthened students’ financial confidence and provided practical knowledge in financial planning and money management. These sessions equipped students with essential skills to make informed financial decisions and build sustainable financial futures as they prepare for university and their professional careers.

Cultural Connection and Integrated Learning

The forum concluded with a guided tour of Etihad Museum, where students explored its distinguished collections and participated in a hands-on workshop. This cultural experience deepened their connection to the UAE’s rich history and national values, creating an integrated educational experience that combined academic guidance with meaningful engagement with the nation’s heritage.

The forum exemplifies the Fallen Heroes’ Affairs Office’s ongoing commitment to supporting the children of UAE martyrs throughout their educational journeys, empowering them to achieve academic and professional success whilst contributing meaningfully to the UAE’s comprehensive development.
