Khazna Data Centres, Siemens sign MoU to explore next‑generation AI data centre technologies

Abu Dhabi‑based Khazna Data Centres has signed a technical memorandum of understanding with Siemens to investigate infrastructure, power architectures and talent initiatives for future AI facilities.

Abu Dhabi‑based Khazna Data Centres and Siemens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore technologies and engineering approaches for the next generation of AI data centres. The agreement was formalised at the UAE‑Germany Business Forum in Munich and outlines specific areas for technical cooperation.

Scope of collaboration

The partnership will assess AI‑ready infrastructure strategies and new technology testing, with an emphasis on the power and systems demands created by denser, more powerful computing deployments. The companies said they will examine implications for facility design and operation as compute densities and system complexity continue to rise.

One technical priority is the continued evaluation of 800 VDC power architectures and their potential applicability in high‑density AI environments. The MoU also identifies digital twin technology as a focus, aiming to strengthen capabilities to model, understand and optimise complex infrastructure through simulation, design validation, system integration, commissioning and operational optimisation.

Skills and international development

The agreement includes a dedicated Emirati talent development element. Under the proposed programme, Siemens will sponsor internships in Germany for nominated Emirati engineers to provide exposure to next‑generation technologies, engineering practices and data centre applications.

Khazna and Siemens will also explore opportunities to extend their cooperation beyond the UAE, assessing Siemens technologies for potential application across Khazna’s expanding international portfolio.

Leadership comments

Khazna’s Sultan Alowais, Vice President – International Execution, underlined the importance of combining technology expertise with operational experience to prepare for rapidly evolving AI infrastructure requirements. He said Siemens’ contributions to managing critical infrastructure will be increasingly important as AI drives denser computing environments and new demands on power and supporting systems.

Helmut von Struve, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Middle East and UAE, noted that higher compute densities and growing power demand require new approaches to how facilities are designed, powered and operated. He said the collaboration aims to turn emerging technologies into practical solutions that support the scale, resilience and efficiency demanded by next‑generation AI data centres.
