Leading Oncology Experts Convene in Dubai for Annual Scientific Conference

The 7th Emirates Oncology Society Annual Conference has opened in Dubai, drawing over 800 medical professionals and researchers from 20 countries to explore the latest advances in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
The 7th Emirates Oncology Society Annual Conference (EOS 2026) has commenced in Dubai, establishing itself as a premier scientific gathering for oncology professionals. The two-day event brings together more than 800 doctors, specialists and researchers representing 20 nations, alongside 60 distinguished speakers from the United Arab Emirates and internationally.
The conference presents a comprehensive scientific programme featuring seven principal sessions, over 40 specialised lectures and discussions, and five dedicated workshops. Its scope encompasses a remarkable breadth of oncology subspecialties, including breast cancer, genitourinary malignancies, lung cancer, gastrointestinal cancers, gynaecological cancers, hepatocellular carcinoma, precision oncology and palliative care.
Prof. Humaid Al Shamsi, President of the Emirates Oncology Society and Conference Chair, emphasised the significance of the gathering. The conference serves as a vital platform for exchanging knowledge and discussing contemporary developments in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Notably, this seventh edition prioritises translating the most recent scientific evidence into clinical practice and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance care quality and improve patient outcomes. The programme also highlights artificial intelligence’s expanding role in data analysis and clinical decision-making.
The inaugural day concentrated on significant advances in breast cancer management. Sessions examined contemporary approaches to early and advanced breast cancer, developments in targeted therapies and antibody-drug conjugates, and optimal patient selection strategies. Specialists reviewed modern treatment algorithms for hormone receptor-positive breast cancer, HER2-positive disease and triple-negative breast cancer, alongside innovations in surgical approaches and axillary lymph node management.
An Innovation in Oncology session featured presentations on circulating blood biomarkers in breast cancer, KRAS applications in oncology, and social media’s emerging role in the discipline. Notably, an integrated discussion addressed the connection between global cancer care vision and local screening programme impact, emphasising the importance of coordinating advances in treatment with early detection initiatives.
The conference also addressed genitourinary cancers, including kidney, bladder and prostate malignancies. International and local experts reviewed modern therapeutic advances, examined challenges in bladder cancer management, and explored precision medicine applications through PARP inhibitors and homologous recombination repair mutation analysis. Specialist sessions enabled participants to exchange experience on implementing research findings into clinical practice.
Additional workshops focused on hormonal therapy for advanced hormone receptor-positive and HER2-negative breast cancer, alongside advances in ovarian cancer treatment. The programme dedicates substantial emphasis to rapidly evolving immunotherapy, targeted therapies and precision medicine, which increasingly inform treatment planning based on tumour biological and molecular characteristics.
A specialised session examined hepatocellular carcinoma management, covering disease principles, dual immunotherapy applications, and optimal immunotherapy regimen selection. Panel discussions featuring medical oncologists and specialists provide further opportunities for collaborative knowledge exchange.
