Local Refreshes Its Menu with the Turning of the Season

Read by Emma, the Simply Abu Dhabi narrator.
There is something quietly satisfying about the arrival of a new menu, particularly when it arrives in step with the changing season. At Local, the kitchen has turned its attention to the autumn harvest, drawing together a palette of fresh ingredients that speak to the lighter, brighter character of the months ahead.
The seasonal refresh brings a collection of dishes that feel both considered and convivial. A chicken schnitzel arrives beside a melon and nectarine salad, its brightness tempered by feta, green beans and walnuts, with homemade chimichurri providing savoury depth. There is the simple refinement of a club sandwich, and the indulgence of French toast paired with vanilla and lemon mascarpone, topped with homemade cherry compote.
The kitchen’s attention extends to morning hours as well. Turkish eggs, dressed with roasted tomatoes, labneh, chilli crunch oil and toasted sourdough, offer a generous foundation for the day, whilst folded eggs with chilli crunch oil, parmesan and whipped butter provide a more delicate alternative.
The Sweeter Moments
Dessert holds its own appeal. A Mont Blanc sits alongside chocolate mousse topped with cherry compote, and there is seasonal granola with nectarine for those drawn towards something lighter. Fig and olive oil cake, finished with vanilla mascarpone, speaks to the kitchen’s understanding of how texture and flavour work together.
Beyond the savoury and sweet, Local has given equal thought to refreshment. Homemade sodas in rose and hibiscus, and peach, offer an elegant counterpoint to the menu, crafted with the same care as the food itself. A matcha and orange preparation rounds out the offer.
The new menu at Local reads as the work of a kitchen that understands the rhythm of the seasons and the pleasure of eating well. It is an invitation to experience how the turn of the year transforms what arrives on the plate, and how those small changes in ingredients and colour can shift the entire character of a meal.
