MBRF and Arab Federation for Digital Economy forge strategic partnership to elevate regional digital capabilities

A landmark collaboration between the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation and the Arab Federation for Digital Economy establishes a comprehensive framework for advancing digital skills, knowledge exchange and institutional excellence across the Arab world.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, marking a significant milestone in the advancement of digital innovation and knowledge development throughout the Arab region. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed by Jamal bin Huwaireb, Chief Executive Officer of MBRF, and Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, Advisor to the Council of Arab Economic Unity and Chairman of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, establishes a comprehensive framework for institutional collaboration and human capital advancement.

This partnership embodies the visionary leadership of the United Arab Emirates in cultivating a dynamic, knowledge-driven economy strengthened by indigenous talent and a flourishing culture of innovation and intellectual pursuit. The initiative reinforces the nation’s standing as a preeminent global centre for knowledge excellence and technological advancement.

Through this collaborative framework, both organisations will pursue institutional development initiatives, facilitate the exchange of expertise and knowledge, expand professional networks, and design educational programmes that align with their shared strategic objectives. The partnership encompasses support for philanthropic endeavours, the exchange of specialised educational materials and digital resources, and the amplification of joint initiatives through comprehensive digital channels.

Abdulla Humaid Almazrouei, member of the General Assembly of the Arab Federation for Digital Economy, emphasised the necessity of strengthening dialogue between knowledge institutions and digital economy stakeholders. He underscored that investment in knowledge development, the cultivation of digital proficiency, and the enrichment of Arabic intellectual content form essential pillars upon which sustainable, innovation-centred economies are constructed. He noted that expanding cooperation in knowledge development, digital education and capacity enhancement presents considerable opportunities to nurture Arab talent and unlock the transformative potential of contemporary technologies, thereby accelerating progress across Arab nations.

Jamal bin Huwaireb highlighted that the partnership represents a pivotal step in establishing an environment conducive to knowledge creation and exchange, thereby strengthening both individual and institutional capabilities. He emphasised the indispensable role of accessible educational platforms, comprehensive training initiatives and sophisticated digital resources in enabling communities to respond purposefully to global transformations and emerging requirements. He stated that these endeavours are fundamental to ensuring that national talent is equipped to contribute meaningfully to a prosperous and sustainable knowledge economy that reflects the wise leadership’s unwavering commitment to human development.

Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri affirmed that the partnership represents a vital advancement in reinforcing Arab cooperation in knowledge and digital economic development. He articulated that a resilient digital economy demands sustained investment in human capital, enhanced digital proficiency and expanded access to educational resources. He noted that collaboration with MBRF will facilitate joint capacity building initiatives, the development of Arabic language knowledge content, and enhanced access to digital learning platforms, all pursued in alignment with international Sustainable Development Goals and the Arab region’s evolving requirements.

The collaboration will explore the integration of MBRF’s Future Skills Academy, developed in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, with the Federation’s Arab Platform for Education and Training. Further opportunities include the exchange of educational content, the alignment of learning pathways, and the coordination of professional certifications to deliver beneficiaries with a more cohesive and comprehensive learning experience. Both organisations will also advance specialised Arabic language content addressing the digital economy and future competencies through joint knowledge initiatives and scholarly publishing. Additional collaborative activities will encompass joint digital capacity building programmes connected to professional learning pathways, knowledge events, and expanded participation in initiatives led by either organisation.
