Miral to invest over AED12 billion in new developments across Yas Island

Abu Dhabi developer Miral will spend more than AED12 billion over five years to expand theme parks, add hotels and introduce new immersive experiences on Yas Island, supporting the emirate’s Tourism Strategy 2030.
Major expansion to enhance Yas Island’s visitor offer
Miral has announced an investment exceeding AED12 billion in a multi‑year programme of developments on Yas Island, the Abu Dhabi leisure and entertainment hub. The spending, to take place over the next five years, will fund new attractions, expansions to existing parks and an enlarged hospitality portfolio designed to meet evolving visitor expectations and bolster Abu Dhabi’s tourism appeal.
The company said the pipeline will focus on growth across Yas Island’s world‑class theme parks and attractions while introducing additional immersive rides and experiences. The programme will also add new hotel rooms and upgrade the island’s accommodation offering, strengthening the destination’s capacity for both regional and international visitors.
Aligning with Abu Dhabi’s tourism goals
Miral framed the investment as supportive of Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030 and of the wider objective to diversify the emirate’s economy. The projects are intended to enrich the visitor experience, generate employment and contribute to skills development within the tourism sector.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, described the commitment as part of the company’s long‑term support for Abu Dhabi’s vision. He said the funds would build on Yas Island’s established success and further shape its evolution as a global destination for leisure and entertainment.
Miral emphasised that the AED12 billion package is separate from the previously announced Disney project, signalling that the investment will be used to advance Miral’s own portfolio of attractions and hospitality assets on the island.
Officials highlighted the role of enhanced leisure infrastructure in stimulating economic growth, improving quality of life for residents and elevating Abu Dhabi’s international profile. The developments are presented as a means to attract wider audiences, support sustainable tourism growth and create lasting value for future generations.
Details of individual projects, timelines and the exact number of additional hotel rooms were not provided in Miral’s announcement. The company said further information on specific schemes and delivery schedules will be shared in due course as plans progress.
