Mleiha Mountain Bike Challenge crowns champions across diverse racing categories

The Sharjah Sports Council has celebrated the triumphant conclusion of the Mleiha Mountain Bike Challenge, honouring exceptional competitors across an array of distinguished race categories in a spectacular display of sporting excellence.
The Sharjah Sports Council has crowned the victors of the Mleiha Mountain Bike Challenge, a prestigious sporting occasion that brought together competitors of remarkable calibre across multiple racing disciplines. Orchestrated in harmonious collaboration with Mleiha National Park alongside an accomplished constellation of sponsors and supporting organisations, the event exemplified the region’s unwavering commitment to fostering athletic excellence and community engagement.
The challenge demonstrated the profound vitality of competitive cycling, with participants showcasing exceptional prowess across an expansive spectrum of race categories. Electric bikes, conventional mountain bikes, standard bicycles and specialised children’s races all featured prominently, each contributing distinctly to the event’s resounding success and the palpable enthusiasm that characterised proceedings throughout.
The awards ceremony, presided over by distinguished dignitaries including Hamad Tamim Al Ketbi, Board Member of Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club, and Zakia Suhail Al Musharrakh, Acting Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, recognised exceptional achievement across multiple classifications.
In the Emirati men’s division, Sultan Al Khardi secured the pinnacle position, with Ali bin Harmal and Mohammed Al Balushi completing the podium in commendable second and third place respectively. The Emirati women’s category saw Noura Al Ghafli claim supreme honours, followed by Maryam Fahad and Abeer Al Naqbi in successive positions.
The men’s open category presented formidable international competition, with Alvardo Galindo emerging triumphant, followed by Mikhail Tulaikin and Ed Fern. The women’s open classification witnessed Gladys Andel’s commanding victory, with Hilda Allen and Mary Grace securing the subsidiary honours.
Additional racing categories demonstrated the breadth and inclusivity of the competition. Children’s races proved particularly engaging, with Martin Nikolenko securing victory in the boys’ category, whilst Erika Braiko claimed the corresponding girls’ title, affirming the event’s dedication to nurturing emerging athletic talent.
