Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Celebrates Inclusive Knowledge at AccessAbilities Expo 2026

The prestigious library demonstrates its unwavering commitment to accessibility through interactive exhibitions showcasing Braille collections, audio resources and cutting-edge assistive technologies.
Mohammed Bin Rashid Library marks a significant milestone as it participates for the first time as a strategic partner in the eighth AccessAbilities Expo, an internationally recognised celebration of inclusive design and accessible services. The exhibition takes place from 19 to 21 October at Dubai World Trade Centre, offering visitors an illuminating glimpse into the Library’s comprehensive accessibility initiatives.
The Library’s presence at the Expo showcases its remarkable collections and services designed to serve People of Determination with elegance and thoughtfulness. Visitors will encounter an impressive collection of more than 2,500 Braille books available in both Arabic and English, alongside a curated selection of over 10,000 audio resources that bring literature and learning to life for those who are blind or have low vision.
A cornerstone of the Library’s exhibition focuses on multilingual digital reading through the Read in Your Language initiative and the Libby platform, enabling seamless access to knowledge across linguistic and sensory boundaries. The Expo also features prominent displays of assistive technologies, including the Emprint Braille Printer, which allows visitors to experience the tactile delight of having their names rendered in Braille.
Beyond its remarkable collections, the Library invites visitors to discover the physical infrastructure that embodies its commitment to universal accessibility. These thoughtful facilities encompass accessible pathways, carefully designed ramps, comprehensive Braille signage, audio-visual alarm systems and sensory pods that cater to visitors with diverse sensory needs. The Library’s infrastructure adheres to the Dubai Universal Design Code, whilst its Autism-Friendly Certification testifies to its dedication to welcoming individuals across the spectrum of neurodiversity.
The institution’s participation in AccessAbilities Expo extends an invitation to People of Determination, families, specialists and the broader community to explore practical and inspiring approaches to fostering genuine inclusivity in reading, learning and cultural engagement. Through its A World Reads initiative, selected books will be distributed, further extending the Library’s reach and reinforcing the transformative power of accessible literature.
