Nairobi to convene third gathering of Faith–AI Compass Covenant

Religious leaders, technology innovators and policymakers converge in Kenya to advance global dialogue on artificial intelligence ethics and human values
The Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities will convene the third round of discussions under the Faith–AI Compass Covenant in Nairobi tomorrow, bringing together an distinguished assembly of religious leaders, technology industry representatives, academics and policymakers to examine the transformative implications of artificial intelligence upon contemporary society.
Building upon the foundation established through previous roundtables held in New York and Paris, the Nairobi gathering will deepen the initiative’s exploration of artificial intelligence’s trajectory, with particular attention devoted to the ethical dimensions it presents and its profound consequences for human existence and social structures.
The discussions will be jointly chaired by Dana Humaid, Chief Executive Officer of the Interfaith Alliance for Safer Communities; Baroness Joanna Shields, lead partner for the initiative; and Dr. Mustafa Y. Ali, Secretary-General of the Global Network of Religions for Children and Executive Director of Arigatou International.
The substantive agenda will encompass accountability frameworks within artificial intelligence development, the establishment of ethical safeguards, and the paramount importance of embedding human values within emerging technologies. Participants will explore pathways through which religious institutions, technology enterprises, academic establishments and governmental bodies may collaborate synergistically to navigate both the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence advancement.
The Faith–AI Compass Covenant functions as a preeminent global forum wherein religious leaders, technology specialists and policymakers collaborate to establish the ethical principles that will underpin forthcoming artificial intelligence systems. Through this partnership, the initiative endeavours to ensure that technological progress remains steadfastly aligned with human dignity, fosters responsible innovation, and serves the universal good.
