National Media Authority and 1 Billion Followers Summit Launch Transformative $1 Million Initiative to Nurture 100 Content Entrepreneurs
A visionary partnership announces comprehensive funding and mentorship programme designed to empower aspiring content creators in establishing sustainable media enterprises across the UAE
The National Media Authority and the 1 Billion Followers Summit have unveiled an extraordinary initiative to cultivate emerging talent within the content and digital media sector. The 100 Dreams programme represents a substantial commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, providing selected content creators with the resources, guidance and institutional support necessary to transform innovative concepts into thriving, scalable enterprises.
This transformative endeavour comprises a comprehensive funding structure whereby 100 chosen creators will each receive USD 10,000 in capital, culminating in a total investment of USD 1 million. Beyond financial provision, the initiative extends its support through an array of complementary services, encompassing trade licence acquisition, expert mentorship and strategic guidance to facilitate the evolution of ideas into commercially viable and globally competitive ventures.
Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Authority, underscored the initiative’s alignment with the UAE’s broader economic vision. He articulated how the nation continues to construct an economic framework that transforms creative aspirations into productive, sustainable enterprises. The Chairman emphasised that the National Media Authority’s fundamental objective centres upon converting creativity into a dynamic economic force, enabling promising concepts to transcend the ideation phase and establish organisations capable of sustainable growth and international competitiveness.
The 100 Dreams initiative reflects the leadership’s strategic commitment to positioning talent as a national asset and cornerstone of economic development. By allocating substantial resources to promising ideas, the programme establishes foundations for an ecosystem of creative enterprises prepared to develop innovative business models and enrich the content economy with a new generation of globally competitive entrepreneurs.
Saeed Al Eter, Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office and CEO of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, articulated the partnership’s significance within the broader context of the content industry’s exponential growth. He noted that the Summit’s collaboration with the National Media Authority amplifies both economic and social impact within the creator economy, positioning content creation as an investment opportunity rooted in entrepreneurship and capable of attracting substantial funding.
The programme commences with an application phase beginning 20 November, during which prospective entrepreneurs will submit their concepts through video presentations via the 100 Dreams platform. A specialised committee will evaluate submissions focusing on digital media, content creation and creator economy projects. Selected participants will be announced during the fifth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit, scheduled for 8 to 10 January 2027.
Following the Summit, accepted creators will engage in an intensive six-week business accelerator programme, providing comprehensive support in business development, marketing and digital media strategy. Specialised UAE-based entities will facilitate company establishment procedures and assist with obtaining necessary trade licences, whilst delivering ongoing mentorship and strategic guidance.
This initiative reaffirms the commitment to transforming creative ambition into tangible economic opportunity, establishing the UAE as a premier hub for nurturing content industry entrepreneurs and enabling their expansion into global markets.
