Neema Naz Brings Unfiltered Comedy to Dubai This October

Iranian Canadian comedian Neema Naz arrives at New Covent Garden Theatre for a night of sharp cultural commentary and authentic humour.

The Dubai Comedy Festival welcomes one of contemporary comedy’s most refreshingly candid voices when Neema Naz takes the stage at New Covent Garden Theatre, Mall of the Emirates on 17 October. An evening of astute observation, cross cultural commentary and unapologetic authenticity, the performance promises audiences the kind of unfiltered humour that has established the Iranian Canadian comedian as a singular presence in the comedy landscape.

Naz represents a particular strain of modern comedic sensibility: one that mines genuine personal experience and cultural duality for material that feels both deeply specific and universally resonant. His approach eschews the merely clever in favour of truths that land with the force of recognition, turning the quotidian observations of lived experience into comedy that engages the intellect whilst moving the heart.

The Dubai Comedy Festival continues to assert itself as a significant date on the emirate’s cultural calendar, drawing international talent to the stages of the city’s premier venues and offering residents and visitors alike the opportunity to experience world class comedy in an intimate setting.

Who is Neema Naz?

Neema Naz launched his career in 2014, establishing himself gradually through consistent touring and a growing reputation for intelligent, culturally alert material. The breakthrough arrived with his 2022 stand up tour I’m Your Sugar Daddy, which drew more than 150,000 audience members across major cities including Los Angeles, Vancouver, New York and Montreal. The tour marked a significant inflection point in his career, establishing him as a comedian of considerable reach and depth.

Since that milestone, Naz has toured alongside and supported some of comedy’s most accomplished performers, including Russell Peters, Theo Von and Mo Gilligan. This trajectory speaks to his acceptance within the broader comedy community as a peer of considerable stature. Beyond the live stage, his digital presence has become substantially influential, with more than two billion views across content platforms, establishing him as a voice that resonates far beyond traditional theatre audiences.

As both comedian and actor, Naz brings a performer’s versatility to his material, whilst his work as a content creator demonstrates an instinctive understanding of how contemporary audiences consume comedy across multiple formats and platforms.
