Presidential Court mourns passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

The UAE Presidential Court has issued a formal statement extending condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the Al Maktoum family following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

ABU DHABI, 21 September 2026 (WAM) — The Presidential Court announced the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and conveyed its sympathy to the bereaved family.

In a formal statement, the Court extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to the Al Maktoum family.

The statement prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased His boundless mercy and forgiveness and to bestow patience and solace upon his family.

The Presidential Court, the federal body that supports the office of the President and issues official communications on behalf of the federal government from Abu Dhabi, routinely issues such messages in circumstances of national mourning and solidarity between the UAE’s ruling families.

The Court’s announcement underlines the practice of formal federal condolences following the death of senior members of the nation’s ruling households.
