Rubu’ Qarn Foundation nurtures emerging leaders through transformative adventure programme

Twenty-eight young participants from Sharjah embark upon an extraordinary expedition across Jebel Akhdar to develop resilience, leadership acumen and environmental stewardship
The Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators has orchestrated an exceptional adventure and challenge programme across the majestic terrain of Jebel Akhdar in the Sultanate of Oman, bringing together twenty-eight accomplished young members from Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah for an immersive exploration of personal development and collaborative excellence.
Undertaken from 12 to 18 October 2026, this carefully curated expedition serves as a testament to the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to cultivating the capabilities of tomorrow’s generation. The programme creates an enriched environment wherein young people, aged between thirteen and eighteen, transcend the confines of conventional classroom learning and engage directly with substantive, experiential challenges designed to forge genuine leadership qualities and resolute character.
Each of the two cohorts, comprising fourteen participants respectively, navigates a sophisticated progression of intellectual and physical endeavours. These multifaceted activities encompass navigation across designated routes utilising maps, GPS technology and wireless communication systems, fostering heightened spatial awareness and coordinated teamwork. The curriculum seamlessly integrates practical survival instruction, encompassing cooking tuition that cultivates essential adaptation skills applicable across varied environments and circumstances.
The mountainous setting of Jebel Akhdar itself becomes a pedagogical instrument, with environmental awareness sessions connecting theoretical understanding to tangible field experience. Participants explore the distinctive ecological characteristics of the alpine environment, deepening their comprehension of conservation principles and sustainable practices. This grounding in environmental stewardship reflects a holistic philosophy wherein leadership development encompasses responsibility towards the natural world.
Strategic emphasis falls upon the cultivation of interpersonal capabilities. Through carefully structured activities, participants develop enhanced communication faculties, strengthen collaborative proficiencies, and acquire sophisticated conflict resolution methodologies. Daily reflection sessions create contemplative space for participants to evaluate their experiences, articulate lessons learned, and consider applications of newly acquired knowledge within their quotidian lives.
The programme embodies a philosophy wherein challenges constitute opportunities for meaningful growth. By operating within carefully considered safety parameters and receiving comprehensive orientation in outdoor protocols, participants build substantive confidence whilst developing the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure. The expedition celebrates individual contributions whilst recognising collective achievements, fostering an appreciation for both personal agency and team interdependence.
This transformative initiative reflects the strategic vision of Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah to position adventure as a vehicle for developing well-rounded personalities, instilling enduring values and nurturing generations equipped with the awareness, responsibility and capability to shape the nation’s future with purpose and integrity.
