SCAD and Silal Group forge strategic partnership to elevate agriculture and food sector data

Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi and leading agri-food enterprise Silal Group have established a collaborative framework to enhance data capabilities and drive informed decision-making across Abu Dhabi's agricultural landscape.

Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) and Silal Group, a prominent agri-food and technology enterprise based in the emirate, have entered into a Service Level Agreement designed to strengthen data exchange and develop statistical capabilities across Abu Dhabi’s agriculture and food sector.

The agreement was formalised by Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director-General of SCAD, and Dhafer Rashed Al Qasimi, Group CEO of Silal, during Global Food Week 2026, the international conference held at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi from 6th to 8th October.

Building Sector Insights Through Data Collaboration

Alqemzi emphasised the strategic value of the partnership, noting that the combination of sector data and statistical expertise will underpin planning efforts across Abu Dhabi’s agriculture and food landscape. Through structured data exchange and the development of enhanced statistical competencies, the organisations will work to establish a more comprehensive understanding of sector dynamics and translate data into actionable insights for decision-makers.

Al Qasimi outlined Silal’s commitment to strengthening its operational ecosystem through resilience and sustainability, underpinned by accurate data that enables efficient decision-making across varying operational circumstances.

Advancing Statistical Capabilities and Governance Standards

The collaboration will focus on enhancing statistical capabilities and developing specialised competencies within Silal to build a more efficient internal ecosystem. This will support planning, analysis and performance measurement across the organisation’s operations.

The agreement reflects Silal Group’s dedication to adopting international best practices in corporate governance and digital transformation whilst reinforcing data’s pivotal role in advancing food security and agricultural innovation throughout the UAE.

The partnership also supports SCAD’s broader initiative to expand and integrate data sources as part of Abu Dhabi’s GDP revision process. Enhanced data on agricultural production and pricing will enable more comprehensive measurement of the agriculture and food sector’s contribution to the emirate’s economy, providing policymakers with a clearer picture of this vital industry’s economic significance.
