Sharjah Chamber and Al Masraf forge alliance to strengthen the emirate’s business ecosystem

Sharjah Chamber and Al Masraf forge alliance to strengthen the emirate's business ecosystem

A new partnership between the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Al Masraf brings together banking expertise and institutional business support to unlock growth opportunities across the region.

The convergence of financial acumen and established business networks has long been the foundation upon which thriving commercial ecosystems are built. This principle now guides a fresh collaboration between the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Al Masraf, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding that seeks to deepen institutional cooperation and create tangible opportunities for the private sector.

The agreement was signed at SCCI headquarters in the presence of Abdalla Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director-General of SCCI, alongside Fuad Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Al Masraf, and Ahmad Yousuf, Chief Retail Banking Officer. The framework establishes a structured pathway for collaboration, drawing together Al Masraf’s banking expertise and financial solutions with SCCI’s established authority in supporting business development and economic growth throughout Sharjah.

The partnership reflects a strategic recognition that businesses require multifaceted support to thrive. By facilitating knowledge exchange and identifying areas of mutual interest, the two organisations aim to create a more connected and dynamic business environment. The collaboration extends beyond transactional relationships, instead positioning itself as a bridge between financial institutions and the business community, enabling enterprises to access tailored solutions that support expansion, fund development initiatives and respond to evolving market conditions.

Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi observed that the partnership underscores SCCI’s commitment to expanding strategic alliances with financial institutions, fostering greater integration across Sharjah’s economic landscape. The initiative aims to strengthen the emirate’s competitiveness as an investment destination whilst reinforcing support for businesses navigating changing economic conditions. This aligns with SCCI’s broader mission, as the Chamber has previously demonstrated its role bridging private sector and government interests.

From Al Masraf’s perspective, Fuad Mohamed emphasised the institution’s conviction that strong partnerships unlock economic value and create opportunities. By combining financial expertise with SCCI’s extensive business network and market knowledge, the collaboration aims to support businesses’ evolving needs, encourage sustainable growth and contribute to a thriving economic ecosystem. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to enterprise development and innovation, underpinning the UAE’s broader economic ambitions.

What it means for Abu Dhabi

Whilst the partnership is headquartered in Sharjah, its implications extend across the broader UAE economic framework. The collaboration demonstrates how financial institutions and chamber organisations are strengthening their institutional partnerships to create integrated business ecosystems. This model of cooperation, built on knowledge exchange and aligned economic objectives, reinforces the federation’s commitment to supporting private-sector growth and innovation across all emirates.

The agreement also reflects evolving approaches to business support in the UAE, where financial services providers and commerce chambers increasingly recognise that sustainable economic development requires coordinated effort. By facilitating access to banking solutions whilst leveraging Chamber networks and market intelligence, such partnerships strengthen conditions for enterprises to expand operations, respond to market shifts and contribute to the nation’s economic resilience and competitiveness.
