Sharjah Charity Inaugurates AED9 Million Development Projects Across Central Asia

A delegation led by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi has officially opened healthcare, education, water and social initiatives in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, transforming lives for thousands of beneficiaries.

Sharjah Charity International has unveiled an ambitious portfolio of development projects across Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, representing an investment exceeding AED9 million in essential services for some of Central Asia’s most underserved communities.

Led by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, the delegation formally inaugurated comprehensive healthcare, educational, water and social infrastructure initiatives funded through the Al Reeh Al Mursala programme, broadcast by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority.

In Tajikistan, the projects include the Al Reeh Al Mursala Dispensary, which will serve approximately 4,000 residents, alongside the Shamsa Al Serkal Orphanage providing care for 104 children. Al Muhsineen School was opened to accommodate 240 students, whilst Shamsa Al Serkal Village represents a pioneering integrated community development, built at a cost of AED2.7 million. The village comprises 25 fully equipped homes for families, a four-classroom educational facility, medical services and a sophisticated water infrastructure featuring a 120-metre artesian well with associated distribution networks. The development incorporates electricity provision and income-generating initiatives designed to build long-term economic resilience for residents.

Kyrgyzstan’s portfolio encompasses a 12-room medical dispensary serving over 25,000 beneficiaries, complemented by a 15-kilometre water network delivering supplies to 700 families. The delegation also commissioned Salat AlKhair School, built at AED1.4 million, providing seven classrooms for 196 students. A medical clinic serving 3,000 beneficiaries and the Sahab Al Khair water network benefiting approximately 4,000 residents were similarly inaugurated. The National Hospital received advanced ophthalmology equipment valued at AED2.3 million, substantially enhancing surgical capabilities for eye care patients.

Sheikh Saqr emphasised that these projects represent the genuine translation of charitable contributions into tangible improvements addressing fundamental healthcare, educational, water, housing and social requirements. He underscored the significance of collaboration between Sharjah Charity International and Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, noting that the projects’ value transcends construction to encompass sustainable, long-term service provision.

Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, highlighted how the initiatives exemplify community solidarity and demonstrate the profound global reach of charitable generosity, bringing meaningful support to families and communities across international boundaries.
