Sharjah Museums Authority Unveils Refined Visual Identity for Twentieth Anniversary

The Sharjah Museums Authority has introduced a contemporary visual framework that unifies its twenty institutions whilst honouring the emirate's rich cultural legacy and advancing its mission of knowledge preservation and discovery.
The Sharjah Museums Authority has unveiled a meticulously crafted visual identity to commemorate its twentieth anniversary, signalling a significant milestone in the institution’s evolution and charting an ambitious course for its forthcoming decades of cultural stewardship.
This refined visual framework elegantly consolidates the Authority’s twenty museums under a unified, contemporary aesthetic that simultaneously celebrates Sharjah’s distinguished cultural heritage and reaffirms an unwavering commitment to the preservation of collections, the enrichment of knowledge, and the inspiration of learning and discovery across generations.
The design philosophy draws thoughtful inspiration from the graceful arches of Sharjah’s historic buildings and museums, incorporating flowing calligraphic elements that convey creativity, movement, discovery and profound cultural connection. A cohesive visual system comprising logo, graphics and icons works in harmonious concert, whilst a thoughtfully balanced colour palette honours heritage whilst embracing innovation.
This evolution reflects the distinguished vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose leadership has positioned culture and knowledge as fundamental pillars of the emirate’s comprehensive development strategy.
Maissa Saif Alsuwaidi, Director-General of Sharjah Museums Authority, articulated the significance of this transformation, observing that the new identity expresses both the profound depth of the Authority’s mission and its far-reaching ambitions for the future. She emphasised that the visual framework reinforces an enduring commitment to heritage preservation, knowledge enrichment, and the maintenance of museums as vibrant, welcoming spaces dedicated to learning, discovery and meaningful cultural dialogue.
The unveiling represents considerably more than a visual evolution; it constitutes a new chapter in the Authority’s developmental narrative, strengthening its cultural role, reinforcing its international standing, and galvanising its ambition to craft increasingly engaging and transformative experiences for visitors and communities alike.
