Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi Inaugurates Ethraa Career Fair, Unveiling 1,350 Financial Sector Opportunities

A landmark employment initiative brings together over 70 financial institutions to advance Emiratization and connect national talent with prestigious career pathways across banking, insurance and finance.

The Ethraa Career Fair 2026 has opened at Expo Centre Sharjah, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s commitment to nurturing Emirati talent within the financial sector. Inaugurated by Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, the exposition presents an extraordinary convergence of employment opportunity and professional development.

The fair brings together more than 70 esteemed financial, banking and insurance institutions, collectively offering in excess of 1,350 coveted positions for UAE nationals. This substantial marketplace of opportunity reflects the sector’s expanding ambitions and its recognition of the considerable talents within the national workforce.

Orchestrated by the Emirates Institute of Finance in collaboration with the Central Bank of the UAE, Nafis, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Expo Centre Sharjah, the initiative embodies a harmonious partnership between government entities and private sector leaders. Each participant remains dedicated to the advancement of Emiratization whilst addressing the evolving demands of the financial landscape.

During his visit, Sheikh Fahim engaged comprehensively with the participating entities, particularly examining the initiatives of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources. He reviewed their sophisticated training and recruitment programmes, designed to empower jobseekers and facilitate their ascent within the professional sphere.

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Sharjah Executive Council and Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Human Resources, emphasised the fair’s significance in demonstrating the productive collaboration between government institutions and financial establishments. He underscored the department’s commitment to cultivating sustainable careers for UAE nationals, aligning professional development with labour market requirements.

Marwan Al Muhairi, Chief Executive Officer of the Emirates Institute of Finance, highlighted the fair’s creation of an interactive professional environment. This setting enables meaningful dialogue between prospective employees and recruitment representatives, facilitating the identification of requisite skills and professional pathways across the financial, banking and insurance domains.

The Ethraa Career Fair constitutes a cornerstone element of the broader Ethraa initiative, an ambitious national programme targeting the creation of more than 10,000 employment opportunities for UAE nationals by 2027. The fair extends particular welcome to high school graduates and university degree holders, offering them comprehensive insight into career trajectories, professional requirements and the pathways to establishing enduring careers within this vital economic sector.
