Sheikh Hamdan Directs Emirates Red Crescent to Expand Humanitarian Reach

The Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region has called for strengthened relief initiatives and enhanced community support across the UAE and internationally.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent, has instructed the organisation to broaden its humanitarian and relief endeavours, deepen engagement with communities it serves, and refine its capacity to address emerging humanitarian requirements both domestically and globally.
The directive emerged during discussions at Al Nakheel Palace in Abu Dhabi between His Highness and Khalid Abdullah bin Shaiban Al Muhairi, Chairman of the ERC Board of Directors. Mr Al Muhairi presented a comprehensive overview of the organisation’s humanitarian programmes and its work supporting communities navigating crises, natural disasters and exceptional circumstances.
His Highness emphasised the critical importance of perpetually advancing the ERC’s initiatives to amplify their effectiveness and guarantee meaningful assistance reaches those requiring support. This commitment underscores the UAE’s broader humanitarian philosophy, which prioritises solidarity with vulnerable populations and strengthens the nation’s role in regional and international relief efforts.
The direction reflects the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose leadership has positioned humanitarian assistance as a cornerstone of national values.
