Sheikh Nahyan Inaugurates Redwood Nursery on Jubail Island

A landmark early childhood education facility opens on Jubail Island, combining internationally recognised pedagogical frameworks with purpose-designed learning environments for children from 45 days to six years old.
H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Zayed for Good Foundation, formally inaugurated Redwood Nursery and Kindergarten on Jubail Island during a ceremonial opening on Thursday, 2nd October, 2026.
The occasion saw the distinguished visitor tour the facility’s comprehensive amenities, including a dedicated educational atelier, indoor gymnasium, library facilities and thoughtfully designed classrooms alongside outdoor learning spaces. Sheikh Nahyan engaged with members of the institution’s teaching staff, medical professionals and administrative personnel, gaining insight into the educational programmes, healthcare provisions, and cultural and sporting initiatives available to enrolled children.
Setting New Standards in Early Childhood Education
Redwood represents a significant advancement in Abu Dhabi’s early childhood education landscape, delivering an evidence-based emergent curriculum developed by leading specialists in the field. The facility welcomes children from 45 days through to six years of age, offering a carefully curated blend of internationally recognised pedagogical approaches.
The institution integrates best practices from several distinguished educational frameworks, including Montessori methodology, the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), and the Reggio Emilia approach—acknowledged globally as one of the world’s most progressive educational systems.
